Tamarit is the eastern edge of Tarragona, on the border with Altafulla: a medieval castle on the headland, the beach at its foot, and inland a low-rise fabric of villas and terraced houses among pine trees. It is the image most people have of this coastline without knowing its name.
What is bought here is that setting, and it cannot be reproduced. Between the sea, the protected land of Punta de La Mora and the Altafulla boundary, there is no room in Tamarit to build. The housing stock is what it is.
Living here all year
Winters are mild and the pool season runs from roughly May to October. Reus airport handles seasonal routes; Barcelona–El Prat runs year-round and connects to most of northern Europe. The AP-7 motorway and the N-340 are minutes away, and the AVE high-speed station at Camp de Tarragona puts Barcelona 35 minutes away by train. These are the practical facts that separate a house used three weeks a year from one lived in permanently.

Why the Cala Tamarit villas rarely come up
The sea-and-castle view villas of Cala Tamarit are the highest-value property on this stretch of coast, and there are very few of them. When one reaches the market, the question worth asking is not whether the price will come down. It is whether an equivalent one will appear soon. Usually it does not.
